Chloe & Bryson’s Tropical Hackney Coffee Co. Wedding

Chloe & Bryson had a beautiful vibrant and tropical celebrant-led wedding at Hackney Coffee Co. after their legal wedding in Tanzania the year before. It was super laid-back and chilled, with the focus on making sure everyone was having the BEST time, which they absolutely did.

Bridal Prep at Mama Shelter Shoreditch

We started the day at the Mama Shelter hotel, which was just walking distance from the venue. Bryson and his best man were getting ready on one floor (after a struggle to find an iron), while all the girls got ready in joining rooms on another floor. It was a cosy one, but everyone was helping with eachother’s hair and make-up, giving it the ultimate sleepover vibes. The bridesmaids wore GORGEOUS burnt orange satin slip dresses, while Chloe wore a stunning lace number from May and Grace Bridal. Once everyone was ready, we all headed down for a mini girly photoshoot in the reception, before we walked over to Hackney Coffee Co.

Laid Back Celebrant Wedding at Hackney Coffee Co.

As they’d already done their legal stuff at their Tanzanian wedding the year before, they had a family friend lead their ceremony, making it so much more personal and relaxed. The beauty of a celebrant wedding, is that you can completely personalise your ceremony, adding things in, or cutting things out that don’t suit you. They had readings from one of the bridesmaids and everyone was in tears. Once the ceremony was over, and while everyone was mingling, we smashed out some group shots infront of the flower wall, which the boys took VERY seriously…

Vibrant and Tropical Decorations

Once we all got out the way, Hackney Coffee Co. turned the room around for the wedding breakfast. They had banquet style tables with modern orange stationery and tapered candles in various shades of orange to match. The top table had the flower wall behind it, featuring the couples’ custom ‘The Massawes’ neon sign in the centre – pure vibes. The thing with those people, is they knew how to throw a damn party. Just being announced into the room was an absolute vibe. Before the food was served, we had a speech from Chloe’s dad, which led to not one SINGLE dry eye in the house. After the meal, they cut the cake for it to be served as dessert, and we continued with the speeches. Bryson’s best man gave him an absolute roasting, before Bryson’s speech and we all headed outside for the evening.

A Mega Relaxed, Chill Party

Chloe & Bryson made it clear from the beginning that they were NOT centre of attention people, so weren’t sure if they were going to do a first dance – so what could they do instead? Beer pong. The beer pong table that was set up was busy and COMPETITIVE. To add a little element of fun tradition, Chloe decided to do a bouquet throwing  with the girls, before a very quick first dance to get the party started.

  1. […] Their ceremony was full of emotion, and yet mega relaxed. They had a friend perform their ceremony, with the story of how they met, readings from other friends and some good, old fashioned audience participation. People were laughing, people were crying, and Remi just wanted some attention. (for more celebrant-led wedding inspo, check out Chloe & Bryson’s London wedding!) […]
