Oh, you were expecting four people? Nope, it’s just me – hi.
You know how it is: one minute you’re picking up photography just to fill an A-level block, and the next minute it’s 2019 and you’re photographing your first ever wedding; although the couple themselves are calling it an “anti-wedding” and everything is falling brilliantly, beautifully into place for you.
It’s why I love shooting “alternative” weddings so much: because you get to have a day that you actually enjoy, that looks and feels like you, and I get to have the privilege of capturing it whilst helping you stay relaxed and stress-free.
(I put “alternative” in quotation marks because I really don’t think vibrant, gorgeous weddings full of your personality should be unusual, or unexpected: I think they should be the norm, because what else are weddings for if not to celebrate how you want to?!)
Since that (anti-)wedding in 2019, I’ve had the privilege of working with so many more couples who want to do things a bit differently, and have also featured on Rock My Weddings’ Top 50 UK wedding photographers two years in a row.
Rules are made to be broken, and so are traditions
My approach is vibrant but relaxed all at the same time, so that you can look back at your photos in years to come and feel nothing but the joy of the moment.
When I shoot I’ll never make you feel like you’re under constant surveillance or put you on edge, or force you to pose awkwardly or uncomfortably. I’ll also never take you away from the action for hours on end, because I know exactly where I’d wanna be when my best friends are all on a dancefloor screaming Fall Out Boy at the top of their lungs…and it sure as hell wouldn’t be anywhere else.

Sure, I could tell you about my old lady hobbies (gardening, painting, baking, reading romantasy), my emo tendencies (listening to Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Green Day, and My Chemical Romance) or my not-so-secret nerdiness (as a gamer and anime lover), but really my entire personality revolves around my cat Tadpole. He’s pretty useless shooting on wedding days due to the lack of opposable thumbs, but she’s very involved in the edits and balances light levels like no-one’s business.

Jodie is just amazing! As a couple who have been together 10 years and had a total of 3 photos together, it was really important to us that we captured all the special moments of the day. Jodie is brilliant. She was absolutely fantastic on the day and super helpful in the lead up to aswell. We wanted someone who was relaxed and would capture spontaneous/ natural moments as well as the more formal photographs and she did just that!
