Wellington Barn Countryside Glam Wedding

Bride and groom sat together on a bench, hiding their faces with their wedding newspapers outside Wellington Barn

This gorgeous countryside wedding at Wellington Barn is still one of my absolute favourites. It had SO much personality put into it, not to mention it was all just drop-dead gorgeous. The venue was stunning. The wedding party was on-point. The decor was perfect. What more could you want?!

Bridal Prep at Hygge House

I started the day with Frankie and her bridesmaids at the most INCREDIBLE bridal prep house. All the natural light, a gorgeous balcony and a massive picturesque pond, with gardens for photos too. This was build with PHOTOS in mind. All the girls wore different shades and styles of green and had lovely flower crowns. Frankie wore the most stunning dress with the most STUNNING cascading bouquet of white flowers.

Wedding Ceremony at Wellington Barn

Once everyone was ready, we headed over to Wellington Barn to get Frankie & James MARRIED. After wedding party had a sneaky last minute Limoncello shot, they all headed down the aisle. The ceremony took place in the Oak Barn, which is over 300 years old. They had gorgeous readings from family and their own vows for eachother and it was EMOSH.

Countryside Wedding Garden Games

The confetti was thrown and it was time for fun and games. As this was a proper countryside wedding, they needed some proper countryside games. Cue Tombola, Ball in The Bucket, The Guiness Challenge and some good old-fashioned Welly Wanging. Frankie & James ceremoniously wanged the first welly and the games commenced. Over in the Yard Barn, the wedding breakfast was getting set up. They’d themed their tables around all of their travels together and had a ‘find your face to find your place’ seating plan. All the signage was created by one of Frankie’s family members, and they were all pub-style to honour their true love of going down the pub.

Speeches, Games, Shots and a Mariachi Band

These were no ordinary speeches. For starters, to even get in the door you had to take a shot of Limoncello. And to get everyone warmed up for their dinner, a surprise Mariachi band came and performed for everyone. It was a HIT but that’s no surprise. As the speeches kicked off, we had secretly planned audience participation, we had games and prizes, and general humiliation of James (what are brothers for?). There were many tears, MANY laughs, and also some underwear. After the cake cut and the speeches, we headed out for some G-Splitting and beer pong as the evening set in.

English Countryside Couple Photos around Wellington Barn

I like to leave my couple photos until a bit later in the day (weather and season dependent of course!), so they can enjoy as much of their drinks reception as possible, and also letting that light become softer. Wellington Barn has some of the most INCREDIBLE grounds for taking photos in. We had wheat to frolic in, just like Theresa May, massive hay bales to pose infront of, and the dreamiest field of wildflowers and rolling countryside hills. We had a right little adventure, along with some veil fun for THOSE shots. Once we were done with the couple photos, we got the rest of the wedding party involved for some absolute vibes. If you’ve got a wedding party that’s down for some fun, bring a speaker, your besties and let’s have some dumb fun for photos you’ll want on your walls.

Epic Band for an Epic Party

This lot knew how to party. As soon as the first dance was over, confetti cannons were set off and Frankie & James were up on their friends’ shoulders. It didn’t take long for ties to start getting tied around foreheads, sunglasses to go on, pints to get downed. And can we please take a moment for the saxophonist who had to play from outside because he was allergic to the wedding flowers. A true hero.

Golden Hour Photos at Wellington Barn

This place can give you one hell of a golden hour if you’re lucky. And we were. So I grabbed Frankie & James (who were glad to get off the dancefloor – it was a WARM day) to head back onto the field for some peace, quiet and golden hour photos. It was a glorious way to end the day.

If you’re getting married at Wellington Barn and want me there to capture it, then take a look at my packages, some more of my work and then get in touch!
