I’ve got my first solo wedding coming up in the next couple of months, so I thought it could be a good time for me to get a bit of practice, when it comes to bridal style shooting. Cue Amber, the girliest friend I have. She’ll take any opportunity to get dressed up, so this was the perfect shoot to get her involved with.
Dressed in her bridesmaid’s dress from her sister’s wedding and my fake bouquet, we get to work. The weather was overcast (less overcast, more rainy), which gave me super soft and delicate lighting, perfect for really getting the details in her makeup and jewellery. For such miserable weather, it made Ambs look super soft and bride-like.
I got major inspiration for this shoot by watching Jessica Whitaker’s bridal shoot videos, which give SUCH great posing ideas and advice, so armed with a list, I was ready to nail these poses. Well, Amber was.
Despite the gloomy weather and drizzling rain, (why is it always raining when I shoot?) Amber looked glamorous and like it was the (fake) happiest day of her life.
